Cathy & Gary started with the Newmarket Farmers' Market in 2000. Initially it was only with a few cut flowers and garlic but gradually over the years other products have been added. Cathy started growing garlic in 1995.

Although it is a very labour intensive crop, it is also one that is very rewarding. Cathy & Gary wanted to share their love of garlic with others and to that end were instrumental in starting the Garlic is Great Festival.

Gary is an early bird and looks forward to getting up before dawn to get to the market. Most recently, Cathy's mom, Helen, has joined the 'behind the stall' scene. They all strive to offer top quality products to their loyal customers at the market.

Products

Garlic and garlic related products such as garlic jellies, garlic spread, garlic scapes, garlic braids and green garlic. Fresh cut flowers grown in the fields outside of Stouffville.

Varieties include peonies, gladiolas, mixed bouquets and sunflowers. Dried bouquets are also available towards the end of the season.

Potted herbs and perennials fill the tables in the spring.

And last but not least -- Kettle Corn. Made fresh at the market every Saturday.
